Module 8 Lesson 2
Harley-Davidson or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1903 in Wisconsin. It was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. Harley-Davidson is noted for a style of customization that gave rise to the chopper motorcycle style.

The company has survived numerous ownership arrangements, subsidiary arrangements, periods of poor economic health and product quality, and intense global competition to become one of the world's largest motorcycle manufacturers and an iconic brand widely known for its loyal following.

Hello, everybody! I believe you've had a cup of coffee and some sweet snack recently to make your brain work before the class?

If I don't eat chocolate, I get tired soon. There are no sweets at hand, actually, so, when I finishwriting this module I'll go to the shop to buy some. My mom always says: 'If you didn't consume that much sugar, you would look much better!' Once I set an experiment and lived keeping off sweets for a month. As a result I felt much better and lost three kilos. If I hadn't kept to that sugar-free diet, I wouldn't have lost the weight...

As you might have guessed, we're talking about English Conditionals today. Have you spotted them in my speech?

Becoming more widespread VS becoming less common

Rising VS falling

Getting richer VS getting poorer
2.1 Look at the areas below. Make the following activity: firstly, write a true sentence describing a trend in this area and the possible reason for it. Then, add one more sentence to make a prediction for the future or to state the reasons (1st Conditional structure) or a statement about the present, explaining the reason and the consequences of the trend. Here are the areas:
Food and eating habits
Holidays and traveling
Health and medicine
Social networking sites and online communication

Look at the examples:
